Flying Ant Termite Confusion

Flying ant termite confusion is commonplace, as many homeowners will fly off in a panic at the sight of wings insects besieging their home. They are not ‘scaredy cats’ for doing this, either, as these winged monstrosities have a tendency to wreck havoc and disrupt a home once they get inside of it.

There is, however, quite a bit of flying ant termite confusion as many people can not tell the difference between the two insects. This is quite understandable. It is not as if someone wants to pull out a magnifying glass so as to see which insect is which as much as they want the things as far away from their house as humanly possible!

So what are the common differences between the two insects that would greatly reduce flying ant termite confusion to a significantly lesser degree? And, for that matter, is there significant enough differences so as to truly categorize these insects as two distinctly separate insects?

On a baseline level, the flying ant termite confusion can be reduced by a simple close examination of the two creatures as termites have no noticeable waist whereas the flying ant has a very pronounced waist. The flying termite looks more like a fatter, grosser insect whereas the ant has a more sleek appearance. As much as people do not like having ants around their home, it is pretty much acknowledged that ants have a far more respectable ‘name’ to them coming from their ‘worker’ reputation and ability to lift items many times their weight. The poor termite only gets stuck with the reputation of being gross looking and tearing up house and home with an incredible appetite for destruction.

But, neither insect is a desirable insect to have anywhere near the house. There is not flying ant termite confusion over whether or not they are wanted around. They are pests pure and simple and best eliminated from one’s presence.
